Welcome to Mesh-Plug. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Mesh-Plug WordPress plugin (“the Plugin”) and any related documentation, services, or websites operated by Michael Winchester Design (collectively, “we,” “our,” or “us”).
By installing, activating, or using the Plugin, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not install or use Mesh-Plug.
1. License and Use
1.1 Open-Source License
Mesh-Plug is distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2 or later. You may use, modify, and redistribute the Plugin consistent with that license.
1.2 Permitted Use
You may install and use the Plugin on any WordPress website you own or manage. You may modify it for personal or business use, provided that copyright notices and attribution remain intact.
1.3 Prohibited Use
You may not:
- Sell or distribute the Plugin in a proprietary manner;
- Use the Plugin for unlawful purposes or to violate the rights of others;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive source code of any non-open portions of related services;
- Use the Plugin to harm, overload, or interfere with third-party systems or networks.
2. Data and Privacy
2.1 Data Transmission
Mesh-Plug may connect to MQTT brokers, APIs, or other remote endpoints configured by you. You are solely responsible for any data transmitted through those connections, including messages, sensor data, and credentials.
2.2 Personal Data
The Plugin itself does not collect or transmit personal data to our servers. However, your website’s configuration or third-party services may involve data processing. You are responsible for ensuring your own compliance with applicable privacy laws (such as GDPR or CCPA).
2.3 Security
You are responsible for safeguarding your site, MQTT credentials, and API keys. We recommend using HTTPS, strong passwords, and limiting access to trusted administrators.
3. Third-Party Services
Mesh-Plug may integrate with or display data from external systems such as Meshtastic devices, MQTT brokers, or APIs. We do not control or endorse these third-party services, and we are not responsible for their availability, performance, or data accuracy.
Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
4. Updates and Compatibility
We may release updates to improve security, functionality, or compatibility. While we make reasonable efforts to maintain compatibility with the latest versions of WordPress and PHP, we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or compatibility with all configurations, themes, or plugins.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
Mesh-Plug is provided “as is” and “as available.”
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose;
- Accuracy or reliability of displayed data;

Use of the Plugin is at your own risk.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Michael Winchester Design and its affiliates, contributors, or licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from the use or inability to use the Plugin, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total cumulative liability for all claims shall not exceed the amount (if any) you paid for the Plugin.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Michael Winchester Design, its developers, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your use or misuse of Mesh-Plug, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to related online services (if any) at any time, without notice, if you violate these Terms. Your rights under the GPL license remain unaffected for the open-source code itself.
